Most of you have probably heard the news by now but I have just accepted a church planting position in Fredericksburg, Virginia. In this position I will be finishing my seminary degree while continuing to work with college students (University of Mary Washington) and being trained toward being a church planter.  I’m really excited about this opportunity and that the Lord has opened this door to me and my family.

Last summer I got a call from a pastor in Virginia and was asked to consider being a church planter. Since then the Lord has made it clear that this is the direction He is moving me and my family toward. Tracy and I have spent much of the past seven months in prayer seeking the Lords will, talking with pastor friends of ours, and having conversations with people we trust and have seen the Lord work through in our lives in the past. We are confident that we are being called away from campus ministry with InterVarsity and being prepared to be church planters.

As a result of this decision this will be our last semester ministering at App State and Lees-McRae. We will be continuing in all of what we have been doing the previous semesters that we have been up here in addition to making the transition to a new staff as smooth as possible.

Feel free to call or email us if you want more details or information about this decision. We would love to hear from you!

Tracy and I do ask that you pray for us in the midst of this transition for the chapter as they prepare for a new staff worker in the fall, and for us as we prepare for the move, adjusting to new position for me, and living in a new community. Also, pray for us as we will still need to raise support as we enter into this church planting position.
